screaming from the archives (piles of junk in my room)

For all of you who have been on the edge of your seats since May, here is the resolution to the post about YTM wearing full body unitards. It was for a video a friend of ours was making. I recently found this video buried beneath a pile of junk in my room. I cleaned my room; this is why I found something. We had little to do with what you see taking place in the video, but we did wear unitards and get horrible akward sunburns because of them (except for Jake. I laughed at Jake for putting on sunscreen). I think the moral of the story is: it's much more fun to go up in a hot air balloon than to watch a video of yourself going up in a hot air balloon. Refugio Redux

Because you demanded it a long time ago:

i demand you remake this short at once as the best part of those characters is the amazing voices you created for them, therefore: a silent film can not do the story justice. fix it!

And because I stayed home sick from work today, YTM have produced our sterling masterpiece. Actually we are just COMPLETELY boring and out of fresh ideas so we have taken a cue from Hollywood and just resorted to remaking our old stuff.

it's everywhere you want to be

This commercial for Visa was made using only footage from the film Cannibal Ferox (1981. Umberto Lenzi). The only reason this was made is because of that damn "American Express shot" they had in the movie. That part is Completely unedited. They brought this ruin upon themselves and deserve to have their stupid knock-off of Cannibal Holocaust turned into a commercial for a credit card company. For those of you wondering, I promise you this is better than the actual film.

What Is It?

Last week I had the good fortune of attending a press showing of Crispin Glover's film What Is It? followed by the opportunity to conduct a video interview with him for Thirsty Media. This was to be the culmination of a three year mini-obsession for me. After seeing the trailer for the film, it sprang right to the top of my list of things I had to absolutely see regardless of the circumstances. I did more research into the past of Crispin Glover. I ordered his album, found a signed copy of his book "Oak Mott" in New York (that copy is now double-signed), and even snagged a supper bootlegged copy of his film "Rubin and Ed." The official article will be online come December 1st, but in the meantime, here is the audio from the exchange complete and unedited, along with a trailer for the film. What Is It? is the first of a trilogy. He has finished production of the second film, "It Is Fine, Everything Is Fine." If you live in the Chicago area, I highly recommend getting your asses out to the Music Box and seeing his presentation next weekend. He is going to be doing an hour of reading from his books (which are great by the way), showing his film, giving a Q & A and also showing Werner Herzog's, "Even Dwarfs Started Small." These films are not going to be widely released, if at all. He only tours with them, so this is a very special opportunity. Highly Recommended!

racism, one big meta joke

Earlier today it was announced that racism; the hatred and discrimination of other people based solely on the color of their skin or their cultural origins, has been nothing more than one huge meta joke. Exactly who the joke has been on is unclear. The news came in the form of a note taped to my front door. "Just kiddin." It said plainly, but the message was plain. Hatred is a joke. Everyone has gotten along from the beginning, and all this strife and conflict has just been one big put-on at my expense. Good one guys. You got me.

In unrelated news, the Ku Klux Klan; the bastion of racial hatred and bigotry, hung up their hoods today to mix with some of the local color.

We'll call it a YTM party and not tell anyone. YTM does not and never will condone having enough money to throw a party in it's honor, so we'll hijack other parties for our own end, resulting in the loss of my unpaying jobs.
